Holburn West Church Choir is a small but dedicated group of singers conducted by Organist and Choir Master, Mr James Campbell.

The Choir practice sessions are from late August to June, rehearsing every Thursday evening from 7.00pm until 8.30pm and a refresh practice of the anthem on Sunday mornings before the service.

We are very privileged to have a Patron - the Duchess of Kent.

The choir usually sings an anthem as part of the Sunday morning worship. The Choir also has two special services of worship each year with a greater selection of anthems: a Christmas Carol Service and a service of worship on Good Friday. The Christmas Carol Service is used to raise money for charity.

Christmas Carol Services

The Holburn West Church Christmas Carol Service, took place on Thursday 20th December 2018, raised £260 for Friends of Anchor.

Recordings from the Christmas Carol Service are linked below (unlisted links in YouTube).

If you are interested in joining the choir, then please do get in touch. There is no need to be able to read music - just have a good singing voice and enjoy singing choral work.

The Choir has an extensive repertoire and in recent years has performed excerpts from Fauré's Requiem and Handel's Messiah, along with anthems and motets by F.J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, Sir Edward Elgar, Sir Hubert Parry, Bruckner and, our favourite, Rutter.
